Description
Oversee utility services (water production and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, solid waste management, and vehicle wash rack) for the Kandahar Airfield (KAF).
This is a rotational position.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates active leadership through participation in all aspects of quality management for utility services (water production and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, solid waste management, and vehicle wash rack) on KAF.
- Prepares operational reports for Project Management.
- Supports the implementation of documented processes within ATCO Frontec.
- Participates in reviews and walkthroughs when required.
- Approves processes developed by teams.
- Serves as ATCO Frontec's subject matter expert for utilities issues in meetings requested by the Base Engineers, NAMSA, or Project Management.
Qualifications
- Completion of a University education or equivalent.
- Minimum of five years of either water treatment or wastewater treatment or solid waste management or combination thereof.
- Ability to work in a remote environment.
- One year of managerial and/or supervisory experience.
- Water Duties Course (equivalent of qualifications required by O Reg. 128/04 Water Distribution Operators Course).
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Valid Driving License.
- Advanced Water Treatment course is desired.
- HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) or equivalent is desired.
- Disaster recovery training is desired.
- Evacuation procedures, Emergency response procedures and Emergency Communications experience.
- First Aid and CPR training is desired.
- Vehicle operation, Transportation of dangerous goods and experience with the Hazardous waste handling, storage management and shipping as well as WHMIS training is desired.
- Experience with Chlorination (Gas Chlorine Systems), Distribution System Maintenance, Cross Connection Control Awareness is desired.
- ROWPU operation, and Pump operation experience is desired.
- Experience with Well water treatment, Laboratory testing as well as Pollution control is desired.
