HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT PROFESSIONALS

GRANDE PRAIRIE, PEACE RIVER, SLAVE LAKE, FORT MCMURRAY, BONNYVILLE, VEGREVILLE, EDMONTON, ALBERTA

 

We’re looking for exceptional HS&E professionals eager to invest their energy in building a career with ATCO Electric.  The HS&E Coordinator is a professional responsible for providing subject matter expertise and support in achieving HS&E business objectives. The Coordinator assists in developing the HS&E component of the business plan to support the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the HSE Management system and best practices.  To be effective and successful in this position, the HS&E Coordinator has to be respected as a leader and viewed as a team member acting in the best interests of the company and the employees.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting the management team with day-to-day support of the HS&E Management system and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting in HSE Program Management which may include education, training, and evaluation.
  • Conducting sample facility inspections, worksite observations and hazard assessments to determine level of compliance.
  • Leading and/or supporting the development and implementation of HS&E audit action plans, progress monitoring and status reporting.
  • Supporting the development and updating of HS&E procedures.
  • Supporting the management of HS&E documentation requirements.
  • Supporting the management team in the investigation of incidents and near miss incidents.
Qualifications
  • A CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation.
  • Significant experience in the role of a safety officer in field based situations.
  • Working knowledge in HS&E regulations and policy.
  • Ability to communicate technical and regulatory information to employees and management.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with management and staff to create and implement ideas.
  • Strong presentation, one-on-one communication and writing skills.
  • Analytical skills in order to break down problems and understand how they relate to the HS&E requirements.
  • Coaching and facilitation skills.
